MY PATH

My path in life began full of hope and inspiration
Roads filled with light and wonderful dreams
However, over the years that path merged into a road of destruction and despair
Eventually I found myself in a pit
where the fires consumed my faith, hope and even my very soul
But as the fire died down and the ashes of my life settled,
I found myself at a crossroads
to either wither and die
or press forward

It was at that moment I found the strength and courage to emerge from my shattered life
And much like the Phoenix
I rose from the ashes and flames of my soul’s prior destruction
transcending above the pit of hopeless despair that tore me apart for so many years
Now I stand at the gates of a new path
once again filled with inspiration, hope,
and seemingly endless possibilities
